Following a successful corporate career, which included many sedentary years sitting at my desk, in meetings and in my car—and several unsuccessful fitness experiences—I had a bad fall.
The fall led me to find a knowledgeable and supportive personal trainer who would help me strengthen, but also to heal which was a lengthy process. Not only did he teach me that strength and balance training could be an enjoyable and rewarding part of my life, but I learned that I didn’t have to train like an athlete or a fitness model or a bodybuilder. For me, and others like me, improved balance, posture, flexibility and strength were all I needed to help me live a healthy and functionally fit life.
Six years ago, my personal experience with fitness led me to share my positive experience with others. I began a new career – in fitness! Today, I am a certified Personal Trainer and Older Adult Fitness Specialist (canfitpro) and BoneFit™ Trained (Osteoporosis Canada), inspiring older adults of all abilities to stay active and strong.
My clients enjoy working with me and I enjoy working with them. Participation in continuing fitness education benefits both my life and the lives of my clients.
